HOW DO I BOOK A SESSION?

Call me on 07890 10 90 51 or email me at danbarryphotography@hotmail.co.uk. Have a look at the calender page and request a day. It's kept as up to date as possible however be aware that dates and times may need your flexIbility.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

I HAVE THREE PRICES:  (To be paid cash only at the end of session).

£100 Student rate. With 1x print included - Valid student ID must be provided on payment.
£130 Full session without prints.
£150 Inc. 3x prints included.

Don’t worry, you won’t part with any cash until you’re happy with the session. Once we’ve completed the shoot we’ll have a look over everything we’ve done.

WHAT DO I GET?

- One session lasting between one and a half to two hours.
E-Contact sheet. (with all the useless ones edited out- I'll only send what is worth using, I'll bin the ones where you sneeze, blink etc)
*for details of this see below ‘How does it work?’.
5x 10x8 black and white, fully edited JPEG files.
Inc. internet versions of each still at full 300-dpi but ‘lighter’ file size for emails etc.
- Invoice (with a customer ref to be used when ordering prints.)
Additional 10x8 will cost £10. (Payable via bank before postage)

HOW DOES IT WORK?

After the session, a link will be sent to you by e-mail. The link will take you to your E-Contact sheet. You will be the only person who has access to this URL (Other than me). Once you select the three shots you wish to have printed the page will be removed and with the prints you will also receive a DVD with all the shots from your E-Contact sheet.
*note - the page will be deleted 48 hours after your selection is submitted.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

- From session, up to your 10x8 completing could take 2-3 days, it all depends on how quick you are able to choose which shots you wish to be edited.
- If you wish for me to make prints they will be sent the following Monday after the requests are made, so the quicker you get back to me with the shots you'd like edited the quicker I can send them. Closing time for 10x8 requests Friday 6pm, any requests after this time may be sent the following week.

*as you can imagine the weeks leading up to Spotlight deadlines are pretty busy, to avoid un-necessary stress, get your session in early!

DO’S

- Bring a selection of tops. Different necklines give different looks,
- Let me know if you're nervous, hate cameras etc. For the dedicated stage actor, head shots are a necessary evil. But they only turn out well if you seem relaxed, so let me know.
- Ask about anything you're not sure about.
- If there's a specific look you have in mind let me know. not everyone wants to play hamlet or lady macbeth and if you're looking for something a little different I'm open to ideas. After all this is your advert for you!

DONT’S

- Please don’t ask me to remove moles, scars, freckles, or any permanent blemishes, I'm more than happy to remove a 'bad-skin-day spot' however if you have a pirate scar across your whole face and that doesn’t reflect in your headshot you'll make a lot of casting directors very upset!
Avoid strappy vests/tops. these have a habit of making you look naked- unless thats what you're going for.

MAKE UP - This is very important. The camera acts like magnifying glass to the face, if you’re wearing a lot of make up you’ll end up with a lot of photos looking like the Joker! My advice is use sparingly.

STUDIO OR OUTDOOR?

- Depends on the subject (you) and what look you’re going for. Everyones different.

- Studio set up is simple and gives great results and comes to no extra cost than outdoor. Remember this is a collaborative effort, if you don’t like the outdoor results I'm more than happy to move to studio set up and vice-versa. I would recommend this for the majority of the colder months. I dont use flash or white backgrounds. This is a matter of personal taste. If you’re on this site and you've read this far, I would assume its because you like the style I go for. I use two tungsten soft boxes. This gives a natural tone and glow to the skin without looking too Rita Hayworth. I also feel plain white backgrounds give a very flat, unflattering look. After all you can’t light white!

- Outdoor- is pretty self explanatory. it also requires no additional lights. I have an attractive outdoor location 5 mins from HQ, although I'm happy to travel to a particular location (for expenses), I would avoid this however as its only going to be the blurry thing in the background. I would recommend this for the better weather months.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

- Alas, we live and work in England. If you’re looking for an outdoor shoot and it rains I'm happy to offer to move to the studio. To avoid disappointment, should you be insistent on outdoor, remember there's a whole year to get head shots done and it might be worth booking for spring / summer rather than the depth of winter.

WHERE IS THE STUDIO?

Islington, North London. Once a booking has been made I'll forward a map and best public transport methods to get here.
